Decisions

July 31st, 2006 at 02:43 pm

I have an honours degree in Psychology. I don't know what I am going to do with it. I've been looking into further study and they all say that experience is essential. Working part-time in a supermarket definetly won't help me. I need proper experience. I don't have the best degree classification so that really doesn't help me. If I do end up doing further study, I'll need to find out about funding etc. I've emailed a few institutions and asked for more information on their courses. I can only wait and find out.

What might you be interested in doing with that degree? Are you more interested working with people somehow, or in pursuing a business related angle like sales or marketing, or in doing research? What courses and experiences most interested you during your program?

Now is NOT the time to be taking more courses; it should be the time to go and test out your career interests. Taking more courses at this point merely postpones the inevitable search for a career direction.

And if you're lucky, you'll even find an employer who will help fund your graduate training!
