More snowflakes

May 17th, 2013 at 05:07 pm

I just added up my savings from my shopping trips (some food and my cousin's birthday present) this week. £2.97 saved just by using my colleague discount card. I sent a payment to CC1. That brings my total snowflakes this month to £10.59.

Sorry to be so ignorant but I wonder what interest rate people in Britain pay on credit cards. Is the rate charged based on an individual's credit rating or on some other criteria? Do individual stores offer their own cards like appliance store for fridge freezer?

No problem. CC1 has an extremely high interest rate, 29.9% This was the first credit card I was ever offered, and my credit rating wasn't good at the time. I think it's better now though as I never miss a payment, in fact I pay extra. CC2 was lower, but still in the twenties, 26% I think it was but I cancelled that one.
Yes stores do offer their own cards, I know Argos does but I've never had one. We also have stores such as Bright House were you make weekly payments on furniture, white goods. I fell for their ads when I was 18 and I bought my mum a washing machine for her birthday - I never got it paid off until I started this blog, and that was years later! I don't even go into that store now.
