Another Update

September 7th, 2014 at 07:16 pm

Tonight I turned leftover bolognaise into lasagne. First time I've done that. There's still some left for tomorrow. I just need to buy some chicken in this week so that I can use up an italian chicken sachet which expires this month, and chicken enchilidas too. It's taking ages for me to make a dent in the cupboards. I can use a few other things in the cupboard when I make the enchilidas - well, that's the plan anyway.

I posted a few more clothes on Facebook's selling pages. A couple I put up because I had kept them aside for hubby's friend but she never responded. Well, she responded today. Would you take them off in case someone's interested or just leave it? I've not had a lot of interest in my posts, so I don't know what I'm doing wrong.

I've updated my sidebar to show my new credit card balances. Still more than I'd like but at least it's decreasing.

Good job using things up...if you have a lot it will take time! I would leave those items up until friend picks up. If someone inquires before she picks up, just talk to friend again but then indicate you have someone who wants to buy. Friend will run over and pick up or tell you to sell. That's my experience!

hi, different countries, different products... I'd never heard of 'chicken sachet' so it was interesting to check out Maggi products. Coincidently, we are just now getting Save with Jamie [Oliver's] as a new cooking show. It's a challenge because he uses products or words that are unfamiliar. Today I learned how easy it is to make Indonesian style curry with common ingredients already in the pantry. So many ethnic foods are merely a different combination or spices.

I hope it's ok to mention that just because the packet asks for chicken breasts which are the most expensive cut, you will get pretty much the same result with less expensive thigh or leg if you and DH will eat dark meat. In our area it's less expensive to buy small, frozen 'fryers,' defrost and hack them up ourselves.

Hope FB sales go well, it takes patience. CCF offered a graceful solution making friend 1st choice as buyer when a sale is imminent. What will you advertise next?

I love to re-purpose leftovers myself! Tonight I'm going to turn leftover meatloaf into chili.

I also enjoy hearing the different terms like "chicken sachet." Love the international aspect of this community!

I've never made meatloaf CB is it easy?
Snafu I'm going to buy a whole chicken and just use that for both meals. In the past I would have bought what the packet said to, not any more.

Meatloaf is super easy! You can really change it up a lot, too, depending on what you have on hand. Google some recipes! My main recommendation is be sure to mix in an egg or two to make it hold together.
