£1901.37

December 13th, 2006 at 09:43 am

I have to save up £1901.37 by April. How am I going to do it? I really really need to budget. I'm stressed now! It'll be a miracle if I do manage to save this.

Lazy day

December 11th, 2006 at 05:55 am

I'm off work today so I've started wrapping Christmas presents and writing cards.

I added some money to my challenge so my new total is £128.63. Still got a long way to go.

£126.98

December 5th, 2006 at 09:19 am

My new total is £126.98. It should be way more by now. I don't know what my problem is. I hope I get this other job, especially if overtime at work stops after Christmas. This other job will make saving so much easier than it is. It doesn't help that I've dramatically increased the amount I spend every month learning to drive.

I can't remember how much I spent on a night out last week, it's really bad. I was drunk...

I need to get my act together.

Tomorrow is the day

October 23rd, 2006 at 02:49 pm

I'm opening up a savings account tomorrow for my challenge money. I'm meeting my boyfriend after he finishes work so I will go to the building society before I meet him. My money has been in my room for ages so it's about time I put it into a savings account.

On Friday I am going to phone to try and get another driving instructor. I don't have any money until Friday otherwise I would phone before then.

My boyfriend owes me money. When he repays me it's going straight into my challenge account, along with all of the other money I have to add.

I haven't started Christmas shopping yet. Although I have been looking at gifts online to see if they are cheaper.

still adding money

October 6th, 2006 at 03:02 pm

Well my challenge total is increasing very slowly, but the important thing is that I'm adding more to it. I have £3.20 to add to it. This is savings from shopping and money from walking my dog.

Previous total: £90.90
Added: £3.20
New total: £94.10

As far as my spending is concerned I have paid some bills and spent money getting to work. Taking my lunch to work all weekend. I have to help my mum buy a fence for our garden, hopefully it won't be too much.

I really should have...

October 3rd, 2006 at 09:11 am

A while ago I decided to quit a habit and add the money that I saved to my challenge money - I haven't done that yet.

I came back with money from my holiday which I said I would add to my challenge money - I haven't done that yet.

First no spend day in August

August 22nd, 2006 at 08:00 am

I think this is my first no spend day this month, which is really bad.

I've been job hunting daily, every day I find vacancies I never noticed before. I might have to work two jobs so i can pay back my graduate endowment.

So how's my challenge? Not going very well.I have £1 to add to it today for walking my dog.

My graduation pictures arrived last week. I'm going to try and put mine on the computer. I'm really bad at it.

Quit a Habit Game

July 20th, 2006 at 05:49 am

I've decided that I need all of the help I can get when it comes to saving money for this challenge. So what am I going to do? I was looking at savemoneygames.com and I noticed that there's a game called Quit a Habit. It can be any habit, as long as it saves you money. It doesn't have to be a bad habit. I've decided to stop buying magazines. I usually buy Cosmopolitan every month (£3.20 a month). This is £38.40 a year, which isn't much, but it is something.

I told my boyfriend I was serious about trying to save the money for next year. He thinks I should take out a loan for some of it; he also volunteered to take spending money for me on holiday. I told him I can do it. My mum offered to help me with spending money too. I can do it; they just have to realise that I can. I haven't gotten off to a good start but I'm sure it will get better?

back to the challenge

July 19th, 2006 at 05:56 am

I added £8.70 today.

New total: £35.60 + £8.70 = £44.30

Slim-fast coupons

June 27th, 2006 at 04:06 am

For some reason a while ago I registered with slim-fast and they sent me a free sample (chocolate bar). My mum liked it. This morning I got two coupons for a free smoothie (£1.19) and a free bar (59p). When I use these coupons I'm going to put the money towards my challenge.

I've also decided that if I buy reduced items that I don't need I will put that towards my challenge too.

I might not have any money but...

June 21st, 2006 at 01:05 pm

I'm going to make a list of all my savings over these two weeks e.g. £1 for walking my dog and any savings I make on bus fare. I'll add this to my challenge when I've got money (although July is going to be an expensive month).
