Busy, busy

October 8th, 2014 at 01:27 pm

Decluttering. I'm trying to sort out our paper clutter and get rid of old clothes, toys etc. It's a big job. I'm hoping once I've caught up it won't be as hard to deal with. At the moment i can only spend 10-15 mins doing something before I'm needed. But it's progress.

Good for you working on it for short amounts of time. Just like money, the time and effort adds up and makes the end result worthwhile!

Good plan to work in 10-15 minute segments to de-clutter. We too are de-cluttering closets, shelves and bureau drawers as we change out from spring/summer for fall/mostly winter. Most important is to pitch out anything/everything that's wrecked, stained, elastic sprung, holes, orphan sock, broken zipper etc. Anything that needs slight repair like button, hem, or seam repair gets bagged and dated for repair. If not done in two pay cycles...it wasn't important enough to repair so it's released.

Clothes that are in good condition but uncomfortable, don't like, 'what was I thinking,' doesn't fit right, haven't worn in two years [except special occasion outfits] is bagged for charity donation. Clothes that are in excellent condition that aren't worn or needed, can be sold or go to consignment. In our area there is little value offered for adult used clothes but any recovery is better than none. I hope you're carrying out your plan to sell children's apparel.
