This & That

February 27th, 2015 at 12:08 am

I got a bonus from work today: 81.37. I wasn't expecting one and it's the smallest amount I've ever gotten. As much as I REALLY want to put it towards debt, I desperately need to buy a new mattress for SG's bed. If I wasn't putting any extra towards debt I would feel bad but I am putting extra and I'm using snowflakes too.

Speaking of snowflakes, I have enough SBs to claim 10GBP Paypal cash. However, I'm wondering whether to keep on going and aim for 25GBP PP reward. It'll probably take me most of March if I do. I need over 2000 more swagbucks and I seem to be averaging over 100 just now.

At least you can cashflow the mattress I guess? Remember you're doing a lot to save and pay off debt, don't be too hard on yourself Smile

Even though it's smaller than normal, a bonus on mat leave is, well, a bonus! And, how good would it be not to pull from the EF but use it instead, considering how close you are to the 100.

Yeah. I wasn't expecting one at all because I'm on maternity leave.

Does SG get a 'big girl's bed or will you be buying a replacement mattress for an existing bed? Is it specially sized? Are there lots of choices or just one or two shops selling the product you plan to buy? How do you search for the best product in the high, mid and low price ranges? What are the differences that make one mattress better than another? I found that category one of the most frustrating. There was so much marketing and so little fact. The sales staff kept emphasizing the color of the mattress cover...who cares!

They sold DH on the type with an attached quilted 'topper.' It meant none of our existing fitted sheets fit correctly. It took four months for me to realize we can't flip that mattress for our rotating for even wear process.

www.consumersearch.com or one of the consumer rating groups"?

SG will be going into a big girl's bed. I need Dh to build up the bed so we can measure it because I don't know if it's a small single or just a single bed. I bought it months ago and when I checked online, they had stopped selling it and dh got rid of the packaging. There is a lot of choices so I will shop around. I don't care about the colour, and neither will SG.

J won't be going into her old cot, if you're wondering. It was bought by MIL secondhand and SG has pretty much worn it out.

I will check out that website.

That's great you got a bonus! Especially with it being timed well with your needing to upgrade SG's bed!
