Sigh

December 7th, 2017 at 06:57 am

I'm a bit fed up just now. Tomorrow is payday, which usually perks me up, but I don't know. I had to withdraw from my meager savings to cover spending. I thought I was doing good at managing it. Sigh.

A few people got laid off at work yesterday. I think it'll be us next. All the more reason for me to focus on getting out of debt and building up my emergency fund again.

I've been on social media less. It just doesn't help my mood when I'm feeling like this.

I just need to come up with a plan.

Great idea to make a plan. I feel like I need to spend some more detailed time with our finances and have a plan for 2018.

Consider an eat from the pantry type of week. Eat up what is still good and lurking in the pantry. Less spent on groceries can make a difference and plan ahead by bringing meals and snacks while you are out.

I sure hope you don't lose your job Sarah. Never fun. Do remember you are in much better place than you were two years ago, so you have skills to weather this if it comes to pass.

Sarah, I am sorry that you are feeling down. When I looked at your sidebar, I was amazed at how wonderfully you have done. Feelings can sometimes be tricky at this time of year. I hope you can give yourself a pat on the back and carry on.

Hang in there!! You've gotten this far and you'll keep on going!

I've had several plans over the years, and now that I really need to have/use it, it still makes me feel "ugh." But at least you are aware and can plan for a potential lay-off.

I've missed you, Sarah, but completely understand how you feel about social media. I hope you avoid the layoffs too. Any idea what's causing them? More people ordering online? You probably remember my DH got laid off last Christmas. It takes a while, but we've recovered --and you're a lot tougher than me!

Maybe Christmas season puts a hole in the spending.. I hope your family doesn't go through any layoffs! Definitely staying away from social media when down is helpful. Just keep doing what you can to get through this while doing your best to remain positive - you still have jobs for the moment and you may be lucky enough to miss out on the layoffs. Really hoping you're not laid off, fingers are crossed.

Sarah, do me a favor. Write down everything in your life that is positive. All your loves, laughs, friends, family, etc. Remind yourself why you do what you do and who benefits.

Money comes and goes, however, I get the feeling this is a bit deeper than finances. I pray for your employment, health, faith and happiness. Smile and remember, today is the tomorrow you worried about yesterday!
