Payday etc

September 18th, 2016 at 08:36 am

Yesterday was payday. Nothing exciting. I paid both catalogues and the last of one of the Bnpl items - a hoover- that hubby bought this year. Just one more item to pay off now.

I've updated my sidebar. I'm hoping that by June 2017 most of the catalogue debt will be gone, and I can put that money towards my credit card. Hopefully I qualify for another 0% card, but I'm not counting on it, just in case.

Husband switched bank accounts a few months ago. We were both rewarded 100. I've transferred mine to savings (holiday fund). Need to sort hubby's PIN before we can transfer to my bank, then to savings. He's lost it. I told him that I'm really going to have to save if we want to go *anywhere* in February. Nothing will be going on a credit card (only if hell freezes over, or pigs fly).

SG's is a great consumer. She keeps asking for every single toy she sees. I told her we'll be writing a list for Santa. J, thankfully, is none the wiser.

I'm back

September 21st, 2006 at 10:21 pm

I got back from the Dominican Republic early this morning. I'm a bit annoyed with myself - I only came back with $40. I thought I would have came back with more since it was all-inclusive. However I didn't consider days out when I decided how much spending money to take. I'll get it changed and then I will finally open up a savings account for my challenge. Hopefully I will do that soon.

I only spent $22 on gifts for my mum and my auntie. I went to the stalls on the beach with only $10 and basically said that was all I had to spend. The man there was trying to sell me a lot of things that I didn't want e.g. candles. I looked at some ornaments and asked how much - they were $7 each. I told him I needed two gifts so I got 2 for $10. I probably could have gotten a better deal, but I was pleased with it.

I had a great holiday, actually I think I have the travelling bug. I can't wait till I go away again, hopefully it will be next year.

I came home to a rejection letter, only one so it could have been worse. I've decided to get serious about job searching.

So I'm back home...aiming to get serious about job hunting and my challenge money. I didn't think about money when I was away, although really I had a lot of No Spend Days. I'm back to reality now.

Packing

September 3rd, 2006 at 02:11 pm

I've got my shift covered at work today so today will be spent packing and making lists.

Today is also the first No Spend Day of this month.

I walked my dog so I have £1 to add to my challenge. I really need to count how much I have.

9 hour flight next week

August 30th, 2006 at 08:54 pm

I go on holiday next week; it's a nine hour flight. I have never been on a plane for that length of time. Hopefully there will be some good in-flight movies.

I'm hoping to come back with some money. It's all-inclusive so surely I won't spend a lot?

Plans for today

August 8th, 2006 at 10:28 am

I'm meeting my auntie for a coffee today. I'm going to have something to eat before I go so I only need to buy a drink.

I seen a pair of jogging bottoms for £4 which I'm going to buy to wear on the plane. I bought a t-shirt for £1.75 so it's a really cheap outfit, but comfy for the 9 hour flight. Only 4 weeks till I go!

Put aside £100 for spending money. I've never been on an all-inclusive holiday; I don't know how much money to take. Any money I come back with is going into savings. I'll put another £100 aside next month.

Some decisions made

July 24th, 2006 at 07:09 pm

After my holiday I will:

- focus more on my challenge
- look for another job
- add to my other savings account

I went to the doctors today and got my malaria tablets, I don't have to start taking them yet. They only cost a couple of pounds; I had my prepayment certificate to use for the other vaccinations which I'm getting next week.

Holiday's paid!

June 11th, 2006 at 12:14 pm

I paid the last of my holiday a couple of days ago! Now all I have to concentrate on is spending money and it won't be a lot because it's all inclusive. I think about £200 might be enough. I've never went all-inclusive before so I don't really know how much to take.

Almost forgot

May 15th, 2006 at 07:31 pm

Paid £180 towards my holiday.

£670 + £180 = £850

Only £100 left to pay next month.

Holiday payments so far

May 6th, 2006 at 11:56 am

£50
£260 february
£180 march
£180 april

Total = £670

£950-670 = £280

Cheap books

March 30th, 2006 at 09:55 am

For a while now I have been thinking that I will need to buy some books for going on holiday in September. It's a 9 hour flight so I really will need a lot to read (hopefully there will be some good movies). Anyway I was reading the paper this morning and it said that Waterstone's have books at 99p each. I don't know how long the offer is on for. I went there this morning and bought two. I'm not reading them until I'm on holiday. Two books for £1.98, it's a great deal.

Shopping

March 22nd, 2006 at 02:59 pm

This could have been a No Spend Day but I had to go shopping for my mum's Mothers Day gift. I ended up buying her a flower basket and a card. I also bought something for desert on Sunday. The total was £9 something.

I bought a pair of shoes which were only £5. They're going into my suitcase for my holiday.

In total I've only spent £19 towards my holiday so far.

Holiday payments

March 21st, 2006 at 05:36 pm

£50 deposit
£260 february
£180 march

Total = £490

So I have £460 left to pay, and I have three paydays left to do it in.

Holiday

March 6th, 2006 at 08:50 pm

So far I have paid £310 so I have about £600 to go. This is a boring entry but I need to keep track of my payments so i know how much I have left to pay.

It's two weeks all-inclusive so I shouldn't need a lot of spending money there although I will buy stuff. Has anyone ever been to the Dominican Republic before?
