I crashed!

I crashed my car today. I've been on the phone to DH, crying. The worst thing is it was all my fault. I was leaving a junction and I thought it was safe to go. I crashed sttraight into a car that I hadn't seen. The car belonged to a lovely old man who took my details. The left side of my car is dented. I know my insurance will go up now but it is all my fault. I should have been paying more attention.

    I am glad that you are OK, it could have been much worse. Having had an accident or two before (which were my fault) the rates didn't go up that much - and when they did we adjusted our deductible to offset the premium increase.

    Agree totally with Miclason !

    I know you're caught up in a lot of shock and uncomfortable emotions now but try to not let the event overwhelm you.

    The main thing is no-one was hurt.

    It's perhaps a cheap lesson if it makes you a better more attention driver in the future ! (I don't mean that in a harsh way - but I think everyone's attention levels increase after an accident).

    Try to be nice to yourself till the shock passes ! :-)

    I agree with all the others, who all made some very good points. Try not to be too upset; it's a good learning experience. I imagine most of us had some sort of fender bender (or more), especially when we were younger.

    Accidents happen...and thankfully no one was hurt. Be kind to yourself- you've been through a good scare.

    That is so frustrating and scary, but I second (third? fourth?) the comments above. At least there were no injuries, the gentleman was nice, and you have insurance. Glad that you are feeling all right! Usually a little time leads to things looking better.
