Unrealistic goals

I've decided that my goals for the year are unrealistic. I don't know why I made so many when I haven't made a dent in any of them. I know I won't clear 2k worth of CC debt which is on CC2. It's too late into the year to change my goals, I just better get working on them. I really better get started on the car maintenance fund and EF. If I'd had them in the first place I wouldn't have had to put over £700 on CC1.

Goals for this month are to start car maintenance fund and EF.

    It is never too late to change your goals. Depending on the economy, your job, family and just life in general (which sometimes gets in the way), goals should be revisted and adjusted accordingly.

    All you can do is the best you can do.

    I'd change the goals if they were unrealistic. It is never too late!

    I think more realistic goals would help you feel more accomplishment.

    Absolutely set helpful but reachable goals. If you reach them before the target date, you can always go beyond. I kid you not, even with something as simple as cleaning up the kitchen, I sometimes say to myself, "Just start with washing six items and putting away six items." Money goals can work the same way. Just start with putting £6 here and £6 there.

    You still have several months left of the year, but goals are meant to be adjusted as time passes and can be broken down in steps. Maybe you just need to break it down into smaller steps?

    On a similar note, I'm almost positive we're not going to get our car fund started this year unless something miraculous happens. But, who knows what will happen in the next several months. :-)

    Thanks guys Smile I think I'm going to revise my goals for this year, they need to be realistic after all
    @ TarWalker: Yeah I totally agree. I'll try and start mine since it's one of my goals for May but as for completing it... it just doesn't seem feasible
