Disheartened

October 3rd, 2012 at 12:21 pm

Things are bleak here. A few weeks ago we moved into our permanent new home. We didn't have any white goods so had to order them from the catalogue. Still trying to set up home now, although we did get some furniture from friends.

Moving into this new place has meant that my credit card has taken a major hit - we had to pay utilities from the old flat, I put some shopping on it. I'm going to cut it up.

I've achieved nothing this year. I don't know why I bothered to make goals at the beginning of the year. It is too depressing. I didn't even want to blog about it, but it's lying if I don't.

I know for myself, sometimes hitting the bottom so to speak is where the motivation is found to turn things around.

Here's to your upswing journey...and a (((hug))) for good measure!!

I agree - now can be a fresh start! I have to ask though - what are white goods?

But isn't moving into your permanent new home a big leap forward? Don't be glum! Now you can REALLY get to work on your goals!

Hey, having a baby and moving into a new place are big achievements! You'll be able to get back on track now that you're settled in. Some things tend to fall by the wayside when you have an infant, but only temporarily.

I hope you'll continue to post and vent your frustration. I'm sure others will be able to offer suggestions and ideas to cut costs and support your efforts to work through this bad patch. Have you talked to agencies to discover/access all benefits available?

Thanks guys! White goods are washing machine, cooker and fridge freezer.

Hey, I wouldn't say that you accomplished NOTHING this year... it sounds like a year that leads to many life changes and wonderful things, with some financial challenges attached to it! Don't worry, almost anyone who has started a family and moved into a new place knows the many stresses that come with those tasks. Seriously, you can have some insurance that many (MANY) people have been in your shoes before, and come out the other side with a smile. It's just a bit hard sometimes. Hang in there, and give that baby a hug!
