Today's Spending

We met my mum for a coffee: 7.xx for a hot chocolate, a latte and a gingerbread man for SG.

Then we went into my favourite charity shop where I spent 13 on two Christmas presents for SG, two dresses (one for Christmas Day, the other Boxing Day)and a Christmas top for J. We went up for outfits for the kids but I wasn't planning on getting them from there. It pays to go there first. Then, before we left the shop I found some more toys that SG liked so my mum gave me 5.00 towards that so that was only 1.25.

    Meeting mum for coffee sounds wonderful. I'm not sure if SG gets the new toys to play with today, or for Christmas. While our guys are grown and on their own, when they were tykes 'toy rotation' was popular. Do mom still like it? When a new toy came in, at least two, older, not very favourite toys were put play, noisy toys were nearly always chosen 1st thing in the AM when everything was rushed, stressed, and got them the attention they wanted!

    We tried to keep the volume of toys in circulation constant and DKs were required to put toys away before anyone could eat dinner. One or two toys, books, softies or games were fine after dinner but there was so much night routine, there was hardly time for play.

    I think I'm going to start "toy rotation". They were toys for Christmas.
