Accepted

I'm going to do a long update tomorrow.

For now, Nationwide accepted me. Credit limit is 2800. I've checked BoS and I have a balance of 2936.13 before the interest is added. I want to transfer as much as possible. My question is, how close to the credit limit is too much? Will it just seem desperate if I transfer as close to 2800 - excluding 3% balance transfer fee, that is - as possible?

    I think I would try for the full amount, unless you know of some conditions I don't. It's great that you were accepted. This will really help you in the long run. I wouldn't worry if it looks desperate. They can always reduce the amount they transfer if you aren't eligible. Go for it!

    Thanks, it would be 2700 plus 81 fee so that's as close as I can get it.

    I would call and make sure you can use the full amount. If there is a balance transfer fee and it pushes you over the limit, there could be additional fees or void the BT offer.

    I would agree with Kiki - call first and make sure how much you can use of the limit with your transfer.

    congratulation on acceptance, I know it was worrying you. I too would verify the sum that can be transferred, how 3% transfer fee is applied and any other costs that will be applied. Most important ask the name or identifier of who you talk to. I note details in my day timer/calendar for reference. It's that old 'Murphy Law,' if you have the information, you'll never need it!

    I have read the fine print and I understand so the balance transfer should be fine
